Client Prep Guide – In Home Newborn or Family Session

HOW TO PREPARE

WE’RE SUPER EXCITED ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING IN-HOME LIFESTYLE SHOOT WITH ASHLEE HOUCK PHOTOGRAPHY. TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING GOES SMOOTHLY AND YOU GET THE BEST POSSIBLE PHOTOS, HERE ARE A FEW TIPS TO PREP FOR THE SESSION:

1. DECLUTTER AND TIDY UP:

• Clear out any unnecessary clutter in the rooms where we’ll be shooting. A tidy space helps create a clean and beautiful backdrop for your photos.
• Your home doesn’t need to be pristine, just tidy.

2. NATURAL LIGHT IS YOUR FRIEND:

• If possible, open up curtains or blinds to let in as much natural light as possible. It adds a lovely, soft touch to the photos.
• Turn off all lamps or lighting fixtures prior to my arrival.

3. PERSONALIZE YOUR SPACE:

• Feel free to incorporate personal items or decorations that are special to you. It adds a unique touch and makes the photos truly yours.

4. WARDROBE CHOICES:

• Choose outfits that reflect your style and make you feel comfortable. Solid colors or subtle patterns often work well.
• Neutral tops with demin is always an easy outfit that almost everyone has, so don’t feel the need to over complicate it.
• As always, send me your outfits prior to your session just to make sure we’re on the same page.

5. RELAX AND BE YOURSELVES:

• The best shots happen when you’re being genuine. Don’t worry about posing too much; we’ll capture those authentic moments.
• No need to stress if the kids are being wild, this is exactly what we want to capture: those genuine moments called real life.

6. PETS ARE FAMILY TOO:

• If you have pets and want them in the photos, that’s awesome! Let them be a part of the session, and we’ll capture those adorable moments.
• If your pet needs time to warm up, let me know prior to the session so I can arrive a bit early and maybe have some of their favorite treats on hand.

7. COMMUNICATE YOUR VISION:

• If you have specific ideas or preferences, don’t hesitate to share them with us. We’re here to make your vision come to life.

8. HAVE FUN:

• Most importantly, enjoy the experience! The more relaxed and happy you are, the better your photos will turn out.
