Ashlee Houck Photography – 2nd Shooter Guide

TO ENSURE EVERYTHING RUNS SEAMLESSLY, HERE’S A GUIDE TO REVIEW PRIOR TO EACH WEDDING WE SHOOT TOGETHER.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY
Before the big day, we will have a sit-down to discuss expectations, shot lists, and any preferences each of us may have. As always, clear communication sets the stage for success.
FAMILIARIZE WITH EQUIPMENT
Make sure you’re comfortable with all of your gear – if you’re using something new, make sure you’re familiar with it prior to using it at the wedding. A smooth workflow starts with both of us being on the same page, gear-wise.
COORDINATION DURING KEY MOMENTS
I love taking a leaf from Katelyn James’ play book and coordinate during key moments. Teamwork ensures we capture all the essential angles without missing a beat.
UNDERSTANDING STYLE
Harmony in style is crucial for a cohesive final product. We will connect prior to the wedding to ensure your style matches my photography style & what the bride and groom are looking for.
BACKUP PLANS
Prepare for the unexpected. We will discuss backup plans for equipment failures or sudden weather changes prior to the wedding. A little foresight goes a long way.
PROFESSIONALISM
Maintain a professional demeanor. Dress appropriately, be punctual, and interact respectfully with clients and guests. Professionalism at all times is an absolute must when working with Ashlee Houck Photography.
POST-PROCESSING GUIDELINES
Consistency in editing contributes to a unified look in the wedding album so I’ll allow my editors to handle the editing. You’ll simply give me your SD cards at the end of the night. Feel free to shoot to both card slots and keep the second copy for your own editing style and portfolio if you’d like. Be sure to back up your second SD Card incase of corruption.
CREATIVE INPUT
I encourage your to bring creative ideas to the table. We are in this together and I appreciate you sharing anything that I may be missing or something that your creative eye spots. Collaboration often leads to some amazing shots.
